M. Sunflower has dreamed the wisdom of whales. Water is pain relief. Healing. Life. My body is water. Undulating alike. Water remembers though I do not. The alchemy of water transmutes all it bathes. The whale may displace it, but the water heals and soothes. And so may you. Not what is, nor what was, but what might yet be. More about this tail.

Artist bio: As a disabled descendant of the Dharug Nation, Lebanese immigrants, Chinese migrants and a UK convict, M. Sunflower embodies Australia's painful colonial past. She is a Board Co-Director of Firstdraft - Australia's longest running artist-led organisation. More from this artist: msunflower.com

Dimensions: This is a large whale tail which measures approximately 175cm tall, 172cm wide and 112cm deep. Weight approximately 40kg.

Other information: This sculpture is make out of fire-retardant fibreglass resin. It is suitable for display indoors and outdoors.

Shipping information

The buyer is responsible for organising delivery or collection of their purchase unless agreed in advance by contacting The Kids' Cancer Project at events@tkcp.org.au.

Delivery can be arranged through the Waterfront Whale Tales logistics partner. Deliveries will be made to the metro Sydney area in the week following the auction. Deliveries outside the metro Sydney area, are available at an extra cost, please email us at events@tkcp.org.au for more information.

If you wish to collect your sculpture you must contact us by email at events@tkcp.org.au giving details of:

(1) The name of the individual or company collecting the artwork – and agree a form of identification

(2) The proposed date of collection

We will then agree a date for the collection and send you details of the address and collection time. All collections are at the new buyers’ risk.

If you wish to display your sculpture outside and require a weighted plinth, a number of plinths are available to purchase at $1,250 per plinth. Please contact us at events@tkcp.org.au for more information.
